Art-o-mat machines are retired cigarette vending machines
that have been converted
to vend art. The artwork must
conform
to a standard size of 2 1/2 x 3 1/4...about the
size of a cigarette box.
I am in the process of making a series for Art-o-mat called "Artworks in Fabric, A-Z".
Using the alphabet as my guide, I
assigned
an art movement or artist to each letter of
the
alphabet. I will make 10 pieces for each letter. Each piece is
created using a
fused
appliqué technique, ink-jet transfer, or
hand stitching and beading.
On the back of each piece I include a description of the artwork
depicted.
